Abnormally low potassium concentration on the blood, can result from loss by renal secretion due to renal disease, drug actions like diuretic, amphotericin B (Fungizone), or corticosteroid therapy, dialysis or mechanical suction of gastrointestinal secretions, vomiting, diarrhea or hormone imbalance. In severe cases cardiac arrhythmias and death might result.
