P. amaryllifolius contains lectin with anti-human viruses like: herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), influenza virus (H1N1) [2]

P. amaryllifolius ethanol extract in vitro induced apoptosis on hormone independent breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. [1]

The leaf extract can significantly retarded oil oxidation and deterioration.

Leaves contain non-specific lipid-transfer protein, lectins, alkaloids, 6E-pandanamine, pandamarilactonine-C, pandamarilactonine-D, pandamarilactonine-A, pandamarilactonine-B, diaportheone A, diaportheone B.
The leaves of some Pandanus species are known to contain calcium oxalate crystals. The root contains pandamarilactonine-H.

Dosage:

用 量﹕

For oral consumption: decoction, 15 ~ 30g, Fresh herb 60 ~ 120g; or squeeze for juice and mix with honey and take orally or make into juice and gargle.
