A BEAM ANALYSIS OF 30 CASES OF HEADACHE TREATED BY QIGONG AND GUA SHA Chen Jun, Liu Juan, Cong Jing, el al( Zipo Association for Qigong, Lu zhong Hospital of Chinese Medicine Zipo) BEAM is a new technology which is one of the computer's medical applications. In order to measure and compare the pre- and post therapeutic effect of qigong and Gua Sha in 30 headache patients, JY-660 BEAM was applied by out hospital. The value of power of pretreatment was 5-10 grades, while the post-treatment was lower than 5 grades. 30 cases consisted of 10 males and 20 females with an average age of 36.5 years old (21-52). The results showed that for diagnosing headache (cerebro-vascular type), the positive rate of BEAM was (83.02%) markedly higher than that of synchronizing EEG (52.83%). Due to different attacking type, the degree of damage of the brain was also different. Generally, the BEAM power value of those patients suffering from the severe type, medium-type and mild- type headache were 5-10 grades, 4-7 grades and 3-5 grades respectively. By three times of qigong and Gua Sha, the value of power of those severe-type patients could reduce to 7 grades, while the medium type patients were lower than 5 grades, moreover, the mild-type patients were normal.
