Botanical name: Azadirachta indica
The alcohol extract of of neem (Azadirachta indica) possesses the effect as antipyretic in fever caused by colon bacillus.
Compounds in neem help control fungi that can cause athlete's foot, ringworm and candida, the organism that causes yeast infections and thrush, as well as fungus that may affect plants.
The leaves are being used in preventing gum disease.
Neem cream is being used as a mosquito repellent in tribal areas of central India.
Neem oil can be used as an Anopheline larvicide. [1]
The extract of the seeds and leaves of neem is being used as insecticide in preventing insect larvae in developing into adult insects.
Note:
Anopheline is various mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles, which can carry the malaria parasite and transmit the disease to humans.
