It is mainly produced in Fu Jian province, so it is also called fu ze xie or jian ze xie.

主產於福建。所以也稱為福澤瀉或建瀉。

Properties (characteristics)

性味:

sweet, bland, cold

甘、淡,寒。

Actions & Indications

主治

for edema, painful and difficult urination (dysuria), diarrhea , leucorrhagia, caused by damp heat in the lower burner (xia jiao) (urinary tract infection).

下焦濕熱以致水腫、小便不利、 泄瀉(泌尿系統 或消化系統感染)、淋濁帶下及痰飲等。

 

Medical Function:

药理:

(1) lowers blood lipids: total cholesterol, inhibits hardening of main artery

(2) diuretic

(3) prevents fatty liver

(4) anti-pyretic (lowering fever)

(5) anti-bacterial (inhibits mycobacterium tuberculosis)

(6) hypoglycemic

(7) hypotensive

(8) galactagogue (promote milk secretion)

(9) anti tumor

(10) induces interferon

(11)  anti-allergic
(1)降血脂,可使血清總膽固醇及甘油三酯含量降 低﹐能抑制主動脈粥樣硬化斑的形成
(2)利尿
(3)抗脂肪肝

(4) 退熱

(5) 抗菌 (肺癆菌)

(7) 降血壓

(8) 促奶分泌

(9) 抗癌

(10) 增加干擾素

Chemical ingredients:

化学成份:

Alisol A、B、C,Alosol A monoacetate, Alisol A monoacetate,Alisol B monoacetate, Alisol C acetate, Epi-alisol A, 24-Acetyl alisol A, 23-Acetylalisol B, 23-Acetyl alisol C.

Dosage:

用量:

5- 10 g.

Modern Research:

Infusion of water extract of ze xie into abdomen cavities of laboratory mice at 36.36g/kg and those with venous injection of ze xie extract of .098g/kg and also those fed with 4g/kg did not show any mortality. Feeding 1 g and 2 g/kg (equals 20 and 40 times the amount of clinical usage) for 3 months, the animals were healthy. Their blood level of ALT and hemoglobin did show any differences with the control group. But, in examination, the cells of livers and kidney showed different degree of murkiness and mutation. The results of large dosages were more obvious. It showed that it might be the result of administered of the herb. The heart tissues did not show any changes.[3]

Cautions

禁忌:

 

Do not use in case of damp cold, spermatorrhea or leucorrhagia due to kidney yang deficiency.

May cause intestinal irritation with prolonged usage.

因腎陽虛而致白帶﹐精滑者忌服。長期服用可能刺激腸臟。大劑量可能對肝臟與腎臟有害。
