yu nu jian 玉女煎

Name of Formula: yu nu jian      按此看中文

Application: Heat in the stomach with yinxu (yin deficient) .

Syndrome: toothache, headache, feverish sensation, thirsty, red tongue, dry and yellowish fur on the tongue.

Clinical application includes: periodontitis, ulcer in the mouth, diabetes with shenyinxu (kidney yin deficient) 

Composition:

shi gao 20 g, shu di huang  18, mai dong 9 g, zhi mu   10 g, niu xi   9 g.

Adjustment:

A. If heat in the stomach is high:

increase shi gao to 25 g; substitute shu di huang with sheng di huang 15g, and add  zhi zi 12 g.

B.  If shenyinxu condition is serious:

increase dosage of shu di huang  to 24 g, and add nu zhen zi  12 g﹐huang bai 10 克﹐xuan shen12 克。

C.  If gum is bleeding due to heat

increase niu xi to 15 g, and replace  shu di huang  with   sheng di huang, and add dan pi 12 g﹐bai mao gen12g .

玉女煎

[主治] 胃熱 陰虛。證見頭痛,牙痛,煩熱乾渴,舌紅,舌苔黄且乾。

[功用] 清胃熱,滋腎陰。

[臨床應用] 牙周炎﹐口腔潰瘍﹐糖尿病等属于胃火盛, 腎陰虛者。

[藥方組成] 石膏20 克﹐熟地 黃 18克﹐ 麥 冬 9 克﹐知母10克﹐牛膝 9克。


[加减法]
A.如果胃火盛﹕石膏用量改作25 克﹐去熟地,改為生地15克 并加  梔子 12 克
B.如果腎陰虛 明顯﹕熟地用量改為24 克﹐并加入女 貞 子12 克﹐ 黃 柏 10 克﹐  玄 參 12 克。
C.如果火熱引至牙出血﹕牛膝用量改為15 熟地改為生地 并加入 丹皮12 克﹐白 茅 根12克 。

[方解] 胃火盛,腎陰虛,水不制火,故火熱沿经络上攻,甚者伤血络,出现火盛症状。本方中石膏清泄胃火;熟地滋補腎水;知母清熱養陰;麥冬生津止渴,清熱養陰;牛膝補益肝腎,引熱下行。諸藥共奏滋腎陰﹐清胃熱之功。
