Name of formula: xi jiao di huang tang (Qian Jin Fang)
Application:
Anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and toxins, and promote blood clotting.
It is mainly used for leukemia, acute liver atrophy jaundice, acute hepatitis, toxic hepatitis, epidemic cerebro-spinal meningitis, typhus, hepatic coma, typhoid fever, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, uremia, sepsis, burns, disseminated intravascular coagulation , with bleeding ulcer disease, glaucoma, iridocyclitis, scleritis, anterior chamber hemorrhage, anterior chamber empyema, pitch dermatitis, etc. Symptoms include: night fever, delirium or coma, or rash with purple and black color, dry mouth, not wanting to swallow water but like to rinse mouth with water or showing sign of heat in blood with purple-red tongue, rapid pulse.
Composition:
xi jiao 3 g, sheng di huang 25 g, shao yao 9 g, mu dan pi 6 g.
Add about 9 cups of water and simmer down to 3 cups. Make into 3 servings.
If the patient is delirious, add da huang 12 g, huang qin 12 g.
藥方名: 犀角地黃湯 ( 千金方)
犀角3克，生地黃 25克，芍藥 9克， 牡丹皮 6克。
以上四味，以水9碗，煎成3碗，分次三服。喜妄如狂者，加大黃 12 克，黃芩12 克；其人脈大來遲，腹不滿自言滿者，為無熱，但依方不須加也。
用水牛角 30 克代替犀角
【功效】
清熱解毒，涼血散瘀。
主治:
抗菌，消炎，退熱，中和毒素，促進凝血。主要用於白血病、急性黃疸肝萎縮、急性肝炎、中毒性肝炎、流行性腦脊膜炎、斑疹傷寒、肝昏迷、腸傷寒、胃潰瘍、十 二指腸潰瘍尿毒症、敗血症、燒傷、瀰散性血管內凝血、潰瘍病合併出血、青光眼、虹膜睫狀體炎、鞏膜炎、眼前房積血、眼前房積膿、瀝青皮炎等，見身熱夜甚， 或神昏譫語，或斑疹紫黑，口乾渴喜漱水不欲咽，或見血熱表現，舌絳，脈細數者。
【附方說明】
現代用水牛角代犀牛角，方名清熱涼血湯。
