  1. diarrhea, blood in stool, urge of defecating caused by infection, (tēnesmus).
  2. swollen and red eyes caused by heat in liver, cataract.
  3. vaginal yeast or bacterial infection

 

  1. 热毒泻痢,血痢,里急后重。

  2. 肝热目赤肿痛,目生翳膜。

  3. 赤白带下。

Toxicity & Cautions:

毒素與禁忌﹕

Although the toxicity of decoction is low, occasionally it can cause nausea and vomiting.

Do not use large amount.  Large amount of herb causes lab animals into sedative state, spasm, coma, respiratory arrest, and death.

Qin pi is mainly used in acute bacterial infection of intestine, not to use in chronic diarrhea cause by pixu (spleen deficient) shenyangxu (kidney yang deficient) or it may weaken the body further.

Not to use with wu zhu yu.

秦皮煎劑毒性雖低﹐偶然會有發生嘔吐現象。

不可用大劑量。大劑量給藥後,實驗動物會出現鎮靜、驚厥、昏迷,呼吸麻痺而死亡。

秦皮主要用于湿热之象较盛的急性菌痢及肠炎。如病程已久,无湿热之象,则不應使用。如属脾虛 ,腎陽虛的泄泻,用秦皮会进一步伤及阳气

畏吳茱薁。
