digestive tract ( diarrhea), and skin
like boils and erysipelas (Saint Anthony's Fire), bleeding in
hemorrhoids, cellulitis﹐and
tumors .
May lower blood pressure,
prevent blood clotting,
improve immune system, prevent inflammation, lower
low density lipoprotein (LDL), prevent
certain cancers and control coronary spasms,
prevent or help in cases of manic depression,
Alzheimer's disease, autism, schizophrenia, attention deficit
disorder (ADD), hyperactivity and
migraines, may be due to the omega-3 content of
the herb.

馬齒莧的好處在大陸版「抗癌中草藥」一書如此描述:「全草含
去甲基腎上腺素〈noradrenaline〉和多量鉀鹽•有治療腫瘤的作
用。由於含豐富維生素A樣物質,故能促進上皮細胞的生理功能
趨於正常,並能促進潰瘍的癒合。對痢疾桿菌﹐大腸桿菌﹐傷寒
桿菌及常見致病性皮膚真菌均有抑制作用。」
這個看來既藥既菜的植物,既無毒又有防癌功能,何嚐不可?而
在民間習慣上,是使用於吃壞肚子﹐下痢等症,效果不輸西藥,
臨時抓不到西藥,可用這個應急。野外求生,當然也要會認而用
之。
另彰化秀傳醫院公開的預防腸病毒方,即含有馬齒莧一方,抄錄
供參考如下:「薏苡仁一兩﹐滑石六錢﹐馬齒莧三錢﹐板藍根三
錢﹐白茅根三錢﹐生甘草二錢﹐大棗一錢﹐薄荷五分〈快煮好時
再下〉」,加清水一千毫升〈按,一瓶大礦泉水〉,以大火煮沸
後加冰糖適量,改轉小火熬三○分鐘。一歲以下三毫升〈按,約
半湯匙〉;一至二歲五毫升;二至三歲七毫升;三至四歲九毫升
,依此類推,十六歲以上則可當開水喝。虛弱體質可能有腹瀉作
用〈按,本劑性冷〉,須減量或另食蘋果改善。藥劑不可隔夜。
」。以上藥方中,板藍根及馬齒莧對感染症貢獻較大;白茅根則
在退燒方面較顯著。
編者按﹕加糖可能不適合﹐因為糖能 促進組織內的液體進入大腸內而增加腹瀉。
