Exophthalmos goiter

Abnormal protrusion of the eyeball in the orbit when observed from the side. It is caused by high level of plasma of thyroid hormone which can be the result of over active thyroids or over dosage of thyroid hormone. Measurements can be obtained using exophthalmometer.  

 Greek: ophthalmos=eye.
